Saying of the Week

From now on I will do my best to produce several inspirational or strong minded quotes each week.
My first set...
Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty.
--Thomas Jefferson
Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver.
--Anonymous
Determine never to be idle...It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.
--Thomas Jefferson
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
--Nelson Mandela
Life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.
--John Maxwell
Without hard work, nothing grows but weeds.--Gordon B. Hinckley

That's it for this week.  I am excited to spout some more wisdom that I myself will probably never follow.

While I'm in Heaven

I'll miss you even if I don't know you, I wouldn't want to see you fall.
If you're down I will help you up, you know it's for the good of all.
It doesn't take more than one person to start a trend, there will be millions following by the end.
I want you to know I'll love you, won't ever let you go, I'll face the pain of all your lives just to let you know--

I hope you dance while I'm in heaven,
cause' I would dance for you,
I hope you sing while I'm in heaven It would be the right thing to do.

So I lift up-- my hands-- and sing,
O' I want you to know I'll love you,
won't ever let you go,
I'll face rain in a world of lies just to let you know--

I hope you laugh while I'm in heaven,
cause I would laugh with you,
I hope you pray while I'm in heaven because I am always praying for you.

Listen to the Wind

There once was a saddened man who lived in his boat,
deep within his sorrows, dug inside his moat.
If you listen to the wind, you can still hear him cry.

There once was a nervous man worryin' all the time,
We tried to teach him to smile and even make rhyme.
If you listen to the wind you can still hear him whimper,
like a stray little dog beggin' for his dinner.

These situation were not good to have had,
but how can you respect the good when you haven't had the bad?

There once was a lonely man ,
his only way was words,
he is singin' this song right now only to be heard.
If you listen to the wind you can still hear him sing,
belting out in chorus, holding his six string.

I am all of these and more my friend, but the advice I have for you...

These situations are not good to have had, but
how can you respect the good in time
when you haven't had the bad?
